• Markets are stabilising this morning with the US dollar pulling back slightly. The EUR/USD is up 0.17% and the GBP/USD 0.22%.

• The Australian dollar is the morning's top riser after the Reserve Bank of Australia voted to keep rates on hold.

• Coming up today we have UK manufacturing at 09.30 and at 14.00 we have the latest rate statement from the Bank of Canada.


Trade idea:

Gold rate today - Overnight gold hit the headlines by making a new record high and record closing level. Gold closed at $1423, reaching a high of $1427 at one point.

• Gold often struggles are record high levels, but yesterday the precious metal failed to close above the previous record high of $1424, which could indicate there there may be another, push higher in the next week.
